I'm surprised to mostly agree with a list of AOL's ladies who rock...now but less so knowing the fabulous Jessica Robertson was involved in its making. She's no small Joan Jett herself. Girl, when are you going to get up on stage?

As for someone always in the spotlight, here's a Guardian piece quoting Pete Doherty on poetry. Yesterday there was poorly written but good story on British grime dudes expressing their love for poetry too, and helping make lists of books for kids to get interested in literature. I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff, I mean, I believe children are the future too, I guess. That said, one of the bummers of being out of NYC is not being able to work at 826 NYC this year. But hey, if you're full-time freelance in Williamsburg or Park Slope, I more than encourage you to get involved, not just because the kids are hilarious, but because everyone who works there is awesome and inspiring. And for christsakes, it makes you leave the house!
