Sunny sunny Sally Shapiro

On Monday I tried to teach the importance of recording technology/playback/electronic instruments in the 20th century...in 1 hour and 25 minutes. It's kind of hilarious to think about this idea but somehow I went from Russolo to Brussels 1958 to Giorgio Moroder in 1975 in about 10 minutes, and ended up talking about one of my favorite things, disco polo, the Polish nationalist nod to Moroder's bouncesynth empire.

All this leads me to say that you should take your lunch outside and get some pink electronic Sally Shapiro on your little player thing. I am currently jamming her Remix Vol. 2 album out in May - it's full of great, weird eclectic mixes from her Oct 07 album - fav right now is the Annie gothtastic "Hold Me So Tight" by chanteur-compositeur français electro-baroquer Dyylan.

Electroclash didn't go away, it just got worse, and by that I mean, better!

Good luck to my student Trey Chic, who is having his first ever gig at Studio B tonight!
